Honeymooning in Mexico (Part 1)

It’s funny that even up until the moment I got to the airport I didn’t feel like it was holiday time. All my focus had been on getting through the wedding that I kind of forgot I was going on honeymoon. However that didn’t last long as the moment we arrived I knew for sure I was in paradise. We chose to stay at the Royal Riviera Cancun. I have honestly never seen or stayed in a resort this big. It has 12 pools, 24hr room service, live shows every night and 6 restaurants to choose from. Since it was a special occasion and it was going to be a holiday of a life time, we booked to stay in a junior suite with our own swim up pool. It was great to have the opportunity to go back to the room and your own pool when the main areas got busy. I’d definitely recommend splashing the extra cash to experience the ‘suite Life’. Unfortunately, the first two days were a wash out. We were …

Signing off as Miss Wright…

It’s here. The night before everything changes forever, I become a Wife tomorrow. I still can’t believe I’m saying that, I still feel like I should be 18 pottering about enjoying student life. Tonight I’m back in my old bedroom. It feels weird to be back after 2 years, but extremely comforting at the same time. I LOVED this room, in fact I still do. It was my own little hideaway for 10+ years of my life. It was the place I felt safest, away from the realities of teenage life. Sometimes I wish I could spend just one more night here as a teenager. I would bottle it up and keep that feeling for a lifetime. Im a mixture of emotions to be honest. Im nervous and anxious, but also overly excited and confident that it’s the right thing to do. I wonder which emotion will stand out the most tomorrow. It’s funny how all the anxiety is caused by small things out with my control, and if they were to go wrong no …

It’s a Hen Thing (Pt 2.)

I’ve been one lucky hen recently! Not only did I have a fab hen day back in July, I had another fab night out in August with my main ladies. This time round we didn’t start until later in the evening, we met at the local Wetherspoons where the girls dressed me so I was truly ready for the occasion. We were heading into Glasgow for the night and so what better way to get there than a Party Bus! I’ve never been on one before but it was hilarious Flashing lights, disco music, your own alcohol & even a strippers pole (for the brave ones lol!). Dinner was at Zizzi’s in Princess Square. I had never been before but had heard lots of good things about it so I couldn’t wait to try it. First of all, the staff couldn’t have been any nicer or more accommodating. It’s fair to say many places don’t welcome Hen Parties with the warmest open arms but they did here! The order was speedy and they also added …

It’s A Hen Thing! (Part 1)

It’s six weeks to go until the big day and the next biggest thing just happened, the Hen Party! I had the most amazing day and the effort put in was totally unexpected. We started at our house where all the ladies met up for a few pre drinks. While we were waiting we got little goodie bags filled with willy straws, dares, shots and bubbles! Each bag even had my name and the details on it. Up until this moment I didn’t know what the plans were for the day, so the girls put together a little itinerary for me to read out. I finally knew what was happening and I couldn’t be more excited! We downed the rest of the drinks and jumped into the taxi. First stop, The Social in Glasgow for a Cocktail Making Class. I’ve never been a heavy partier or drinker so this was perfect for me! We were split into two booths, given a fab selection of nibbles and got to make 2 cocktails each. I don’t think …

My Wedding Anxiety

For all those brides to be out there, this ones for you. I don’t normally express how much anxiety my upcoming wedding gives me. I feel like you have to be seen as constantly excited, but it’s so wrong. Since I hit the 1 year to go mark by anxiety & stress levels have went through the roof. I want to be excited. I am excited. But, you just can’t help thinking about all the tiny negative aspects of it. I don’t come from a mega rich family so, it takes a lot of hard work to save money to pay for things. Don’t get me wrong, our families are saving hard too and if it wasn’t for there help we probably still wouldn’t have enough to get married. I just hate how much pressure weddings put on people, the real meaning behind a wedding often gets lost by overwhelming anxiety of how you’re going to afford everything. For instance, you order a special birthday cake and it won’t cost you more than £100 ( …
