A Day in Gullane

We are finally into the first week of normality in 2019 and I am feeling pretty good about it. I like having a routine and getting back into the swing of things. Tonights post is going back to last week and a trip we took to Gullane on January 2nd, just before Ross went back to work. It was set to be a beautiful day and we wanted to spend our day somewhere different rather than wasting our last day of the holidays in the house. A few days before this, Bailey was aloud out for walks so what better thing to do than take a day trip with her. We had to be careful though, as she is still a little baby and we didn’t want to walk her too far and hurt her little legs. But, as usual she surprised us and was raring to go from the moment we got there. We originally planned to go to North Berwick and during our drive we went through a town called Gullane and we …

Overnight At Turnberry

It’s been almost a month since we went away from Ross’s birthday but, I can’t stop thinking about how amazing it was. And, how perfect every moment was. To cut a long story short, I decided for this year for his birthday I would take him away for the night to Trump Turnberry in Ayr. He’s a major golf fan and since we went there for a day trip, it’sΒ been at the back of my mind to go. To be honest, I don’t even know where to begin. The hotel is out of this world. It’s a different level of luxury. At first, I felt very self conscious at how posh is seemed and how the other guest were acting. They arrived in the fanciest cars with the newest and most expensive clothes on. But, I decided to play along. I had fairly paid my way after all. When you arrive, your bags are taken from you and your are escorted into a side office to check in. Its decorated in the softest cream leather …

Snow Day

Finally, a snow day I could enjoy! I have been watching the snow fall from the window for weeks and last Sunday I was finally able to go out and have some fun. It was a completely spontaneous day out, but sometimes those are the best! We decided not to go too far because neither of us wanted to get stuck anywhere, so we drove 15 minutes along the road to Chatelherault Country Park. It’s such a beautiful space and you could spend all day walking around the grounds, or even sit looking at the views of Hamilton. We’ve spent many summer nights up there wandering round, but today was probably the nicest walk I’ve been on there. Oh, and they have a coffee shop! ( obviously my favourite part! ). A snow day calls for my favourite winter accessories. I’ve had my ever reliable hunter wellies for years. You seriously can’t go wrong with them: stylish and sensible. Paired with my favourite Ralph Lauren jacket, made from duck feathers, is amazing at keeping you …

The Famous Gleneagles

Christmas has now been and gone for another year and its time for life to slow back down to a normal pace (hopefully). We’ve both been lucky enough to have some time off over the festive period and feel very well rested for the New Year. Although, I am back to work tomorrow for a short shift we didn’t let that dampen our day and decided on a very spontaneous trip to Gleneagles Hotel & Spa. I’ve been before for afternoon tea and a quick look around but somehow today felt much better. From the moment we got in the car I was so chilled out. Which, for me is unusual as I am such a bloody freak when it comes taking trips out of the blue! Is there a name of that? Compulsive Planner perhaps? Let me know. The only thing that disappointed me was that there was no snow. The further away from our house we got, and the closer to the hotel it disappeared bit by bit. Nevertheless it was a BEAUTIFUL …
