Mr & Mrs Nelson

Where do I even start? Yesterday was a day of dreams and we couldn’t be happier. We are currently lying in the airport hotel, eating chips catching up on everyone’s social media posts! Each and every person that attended yesterday contributed to the making of the perfect day. The minute it really kicked in for me when was the Piper met the bridal car at the top of the street and piped the car all the way to the church! I felt like a princess arriving. And the minute the car stopped so did the rain! I couldn’t believe my luck. I remember standing in the church doorway feeling confident and calm. I watched my bridesmaids and tried to take in as much details as I could for a mental note. They were slightly emotional but they did me so proud. They owned that asile with so much grace and confidence. I waited at the start of the asile and watched them head to the alter. I took one last minute to look at my …

Signing off as Miss Wright…

It’s here. The night before everything changes forever, I become a Wife tomorrow. I still can’t believe I’m saying that, I still feel like I should be 18 pottering about enjoying student life. Tonight I’m back in my old bedroom. It feels weird to be back after 2 years, but extremely comforting at the same time. I LOVED this room, in fact I still do. It was my own little hideaway for 10+ years of my life. It was the place I felt safest, away from the realities of teenage life. Sometimes I wish I could spend just one more night here as a teenager. I would bottle it up and keep that feeling for a lifetime. Im a mixture of emotions to be honest. Im nervous and anxious, but also overly excited and confident that it’s the right thing to do. I wonder which emotion will stand out the most tomorrow. It’s funny how all the anxiety is caused by small things out with my control, and if they were to go wrong no …

It’s a Hen Thing (Pt 2.)

I’ve been one lucky hen recently! Not only did I have a fab hen day back in July, I had another fab night out in August with my main ladies. This time round we didn’t start until later in the evening, we met at the local Wetherspoons where the girls dressed me so I was truly ready for the occasion. We were heading into Glasgow for the night and so what better way to get there than a Party Bus! I’ve never been on one before but it was hilarious Flashing lights, disco music, your own alcohol & even a strippers pole (for the brave ones lol!). Dinner was at Zizzi’s in Princess Square. I had never been before but had heard lots of good things about it so I couldn’t wait to try it. First of all, the staff couldn’t have been any nicer or more accommodating. It’s fair to say many places don’t welcome Hen Parties with the warmest open arms but they did here! The order was speedy and they also added …

Wedding Skincare Routine

I’ve never really been the obsessive type over skin care and beauty routines until the start of the year. I remember seeing a picture of someone bridal makeup on Pinterest and thinking about how their skin glowed and looked blemish free. I suddenly had a mini panic that my skin would be crap for the big day, that it would be covered in breakouts and dried out. Thats when I decided enough was enough and it was time to get myself in order. I have 5 main products that I try to use daily: (1)Firstly, I use the Nivea Gentle Exfoliating Scrub after my beautician told me that for scrubs it doesn’t need to be expensive as all your really needing it the grains within it.So, I picked up one that was on offer at Asda. As much as you want to take care of your skin, you don’t want to damage it either by using abrasive products more than you need to. Scrubs are great for removing dead skin and dirt from deep in …

It’s A Hen Thing! (Part 1)

It’s six weeks to go until the big day and the next biggest thing just happened, the Hen Party! I had the most amazing day and the effort put in was totally unexpected. We started at our house where all the ladies met up for a few pre drinks. While we were waiting we got little goodie bags filled with willy straws, dares, shots and bubbles! Each bag even had my name and the details on it. Up until this moment I didn’t know what the plans were for the day, so the girls put together a little itinerary for me to read out. I finally knew what was happening and I couldn’t be more excited! We downed the rest of the drinks and jumped into the taxi. First stop, The Social in Glasgow for a Cocktail Making Class. I’ve never been a heavy partier or drinker so this was perfect for me! We were split into two booths, given a fab selection of nibbles and got to make 2 cocktails each. I don’t think …
