Month: December 2018

Goodbye 2018, Hello 2019.

Wow, I cant believe another year has passed. This year has definitely been a busy one and will always remain special to us (wedding, dream holiday, job changes & our newest addition to the family!). I decided to pop this post up with some of my favourite pictures from this past year and I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude as I looked back at all the lovely things we done this year. But first, I want to do a bit of reflection and planning for 2019. This year I was really put through my paces with stress from many different situations (not just the wedding!) and looking back its something I do not want to take forward into 2019. This new year is about limiting that stress and anxiety and having a bit more faith in myself and life in general. Over the past year I stressed out over so many things that weren’t even in my control and it was just ridiculous. Going forward I have many hopes and goals for this year …

Edinburgh at Christmas

I’ve always been a massive fan of the capital and what it has to offer. The buildings, the shops and the contrast between the old town and the new town. I love the buzz of the city, not sure if I would like living in the city, but for the odd weekend away or day out I think its grand.  Every year Ross and I go out for a christmas dinner together, this year Ross came up with the great idea of a day out instead. We had originally planned to just go into the markets and have a mooch around, but he later surprised me with a reservation at The Dome (boy did good!). If you don’t know the place then, it is the most beautifully decorated place in the city during the christmas period. The building is around 200 years old and it was originally designed for the Bank of Scotland. From October through to the New Year it is covered in gorgeous lights and has one of the biggest christmas trees you …

Welcome to the family, Bailey

What a week it has been! My house has been completely turned upside down, everything has been chewed on, peed on & pooped on! Oh, the joys of little Bailey. I wouldn’t have it any other way and she’s 100% part of the family now.  Bailey is a 9 week old F2 apricot Cavapoo with a full personality and a mischievous streak. We looked into several types of dogs but we had agreed on a Cavapoo because we loved Cockapoos but wanted something a little smaller for our house. They are also hypoallergenic which is great as Ross has asthma and no one likes dog hairs all over the house!  We travelled to Newcastle to get her last Saturday after only meeting her once before. She hasn’t disappointed us at all. I was really worried about how she would react in the car but she slept the full way in her little bed. When we got her into the house she settled straight away, showing off and playing with her new toys. It wasn’t until …

Get Christmas Ready with The Nelson’s

It’s my favourite time of year! There’s nothing better than filling your home with sparkle, lights and more candle’s than usual. This year I got a few new bits for the house and thought I would put it all together for you incase you needed any inspiration for your home too. I linked as many of the products I could. One of my dreams is to have a massive 12ft tree in a beautiful bay window. However, until then I love my 6ft basic tree. Our tree and the accessories were bought when we first moved into our home 2 years ago but the styles are still available. Tree // The Range Baubles // The Range Lights // Asda or Amazon * This year I picked up a few extra bits for our TV unit. I had my eye on the garland and light up star from The White Company but managed to find a cheaper substitute from Argos. It is basically the exact same, might not last as long but I’m happy with it regardless. …
