Where do I even start? Yesterday was a day of dreams and we couldn’t be happier. We are currently lying in the airport hotel, eating chips catching up on everyone’s social media posts! Each and every person that attended yesterday contributed to the making of the perfect day.
The minute it really kicked in for me when was the Piper met the bridal car at the top of the street and piped the car all the way to the church! I felt like a princess arriving. And the minute the car stopped so did the rain! I couldn’t believe my luck.
I remember standing in the church doorway feeling confident and calm. I watched my bridesmaids and tried to take in as much details as I could for a mental note. They were slightly emotional but they did me so proud. They owned that asile with so much grace and confidence. I waited at the start of the asile and watched them head to the alter. I took one last minute to look at my dad, who was rather emotional, and then started to make that special walk.
The service was very special because it was conducted by our regular minister. It wasn’t too long or too short. And it was perfectly designed to compliment us as a couple. We picked our own modern vows as well as readings, hymns and prayers.
As soon as we walked out the church the sun was splitting the trees and everyone was cheering and smiling! It was the perfect opportunity for us to get the back roof of the bridal car down on arrival to the reception.
It was pictures galaore and our photographer was out of this world. She had so many ideas that I’m so excited to see how they come out! We only had a few minutes to mingle before we welcomed all guests in for dinner.
Speeches were first. The guys did absolutely brilliantly. My dad’s was basically a fairy tale story of my life and how I met Ross. The groom and best man also did an amazing job! I couldn’t have been prouder.
Once dinner was done the evening guests started to arrive. Just in time for cake cutting and the first few dances. Me and Ross went for a slow dance to Perfect. But when it came to the father daughter dance we went for the spur of the moment boogie to My Girl! It was so much fun.
Not much happened after that expect everyone danced the night away. Lots of laughter and good vibes filled the room. I couldn’t have asked for a better day. There were no arguements , no fights and no bad blood. It was all pure happiness.
I can’t wait for my future as Mrs Nelson.
