Bedroom Re-Vamp

I never really minded our bedroom. I hadn’t changed it since we moved in two years ago and always kept it simple and neutral. When we first moved in I chose a Paris themed wallpaper for the room, simply because we got engaged there and I was still hanging onto the memory. When we got back from our honeymoon on Tuesday, Ross walked into the room and said ‘I hate that wallpaper’. Well, that sent a train in motion and we spent the next two days wallpapering and dressing the room. This time round we went for a darker, grey wallpaper for behind the bed. Sometimes grey can be draining but this paper has a silver design that when the light hits, it really brightens up. The white furniture and frames stand out perfectly against the darker wall.   When shopping for some accessories we went for a splash of colour with yellow, green and silver. Its very easy for us to change the colour input this way as all I would need to do …

Honeymooning in Mexico (Part 1)

It’s funny that even up until the moment I got to the airport I didn’t feel like it was holiday time. All my focus had been on getting through the wedding that I kind of forgot I was going on honeymoon. However that didn’t last long as the moment we arrived I knew for sure I was in paradise. We chose to stay at the Royal Riviera Cancun. I have honestly never seen or stayed in a resort this big. It has 12 pools, 24hr room service, live shows every night and 6 restaurants to choose from. Since it was a special occasion and it was going to be a holiday of a life time, we booked to stay in a junior suite with our own swim up pool. It was great to have the opportunity to go back to the room and your own pool when the main areas got busy. I’d definitely recommend splashing the extra cash to experience the ‘suite Life’. Unfortunately, the first two days were a wash out. We were …

Mr & Mrs Nelson

Where do I even start? Yesterday was a day of dreams and we couldn’t be happier. We are currently lying in the airport hotel, eating chips catching up on everyone’s social media posts! Each and every person that attended yesterday contributed to the making of the perfect day. The minute it really kicked in for me when was the Piper met the bridal car at the top of the street and piped the car all the way to the church! I felt like a princess arriving. And the minute the car stopped so did the rain! I couldn’t believe my luck. I remember standing in the church doorway feeling confident and calm. I watched my bridesmaids and tried to take in as much details as I could for a mental note. They were slightly emotional but they did me so proud. They owned that asile with so much grace and confidence. I waited at the start of the asile and watched them head to the alter. I took one last minute to look at my …

Signing off as Miss Wright…

It’s here. The night before everything changes forever, I become a Wife tomorrow. I still can’t believe I’m saying that, I still feel like I should be 18 pottering about enjoying student life. Tonight I’m back in my old bedroom. It feels weird to be back after 2 years, but extremely comforting at the same time. I LOVED this room, in fact I still do. It was my own little hideaway for 10+ years of my life. It was the place I felt safest, away from the realities of teenage life. Sometimes I wish I could spend just one more night here as a teenager. I would bottle it up and keep that feeling for a lifetime. Im a mixture of emotions to be honest. Im nervous and anxious, but also overly excited and confident that it’s the right thing to do. I wonder which emotion will stand out the most tomorrow. It’s funny how all the anxiety is caused by small things out with my control, and if they were to go wrong no …

It’s a Hen Thing (Pt 2.)

I’ve been one lucky hen recently! Not only did I have a fab hen day back in July, I had another fab night out in August with my main ladies. This time round we didn’t start until later in the evening, we met at the local Wetherspoons where the girls dressed me so I was truly ready for the occasion. We were heading into Glasgow for the night and so what better way to get there than a Party Bus! I’ve never been on one before but it was hilarious Flashing lights, disco music, your own alcohol & even a strippers pole (for the brave ones lol!). Dinner was at Zizzi’s in Princess Square. I had never been before but had heard lots of good things about it so I couldn’t wait to try it. First of all, the staff couldn’t have been any nicer or more accommodating. It’s fair to say many places don’t welcome Hen Parties with the warmest open arms but they did here! The order was speedy and they also added …
